The destruction of nature accounts for more global emissions than the cars and transport industry combined. The population of humans has more than doubled since the 1960s (this is mind blowing) and with it has come absolutely devastating impacts on our natural world from our forests, wilderness and wetlands, to our big animals, birds, pollinating insects and plants. We depend on our species and biodiversity so it’s also in our best interests to fix this, save for nothing else.

Here’s a horror stat: In the Americas, more than 95% of high-grass prairies have been transformed into farms.
Our loss of nature and climate change adversely affect each other making this even worse. A significant part of our work needs to be focused on limited the destruction of our environment and reforesting and rehabilitating a whole lot of it.
