As well as being a serious environmental issue, plastic waste is a pressing resource problem. At the moment the plastics industry takes up roughly 8% of oil production and it’s forecast to rise to 20% by 2050! The plastic industry uses more oil than airplane flights in the world according to the Ellen MacArthur foundation.
