For me it’s the endless summers, the ripest tomatoes, the fruitful towns and the easy picking of cherries that steal my heart in Tuscany time and time again. Stay weeks longer than you have planned if possible.
For a truly magical Tuscany experience, get away from the towns, jump in your little car and stay at a villa amongst the vineyards. We stayed at the beautiful La Poggiolaia and I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

The Colle Bereto winery in Radda, Chianti is home to a gorgeous vineyard (and the man who measures the clouds), beautiful lunch areas (including a lounging area by the pool) and if you’re lucky you may even get to steal a peek at their very special small cellar.
This view comes courtesy of the restaurant Osteria di Casa Chianti which serves fresh food all from within one hour of the outdoor deck you’ll sit on. The staff are full of smiles, a tasting selection of oil, the freshest bruschetta you’ll ever feast on and many evenings we would find ourselves back here.

Buonconvento (for when Siena is on your list, make time to head here as well)
Volterra (a vibrant town set on the mountain)
Certaldo (new city down the bottom, the old walled one at the top. take the funicular and head on up)
