We love heading to our local bulk store and filling up a glass bottle with olive oil rather than buying the packaged stuff! They also have coconut oil and almond oil which you can fill up in your own glass jars or bottles – these also make lovely body moisturisers! In addition to plastic waste, there are several other downsides of plastic packaged olive oil: the plastic lets a lot of light through which can reduce the quality of the oil; it’s porous, which means that air and humidity can penetrate it; and small molecules from the plastic can contaminate the oil! Choosing glass or metal helps #unstuff the world and also makes for quality oil.
