Dutch supermarket chain Ekoplaza

Dutch supermarket chain Ekoplaza has introduced a totally plastic-free aisle for environmentally-conscious shoppers. In a world first, everything in the Amsterdam branch aisle is packaged either in recyclable or compostable materials. Before the end of the year, Ekoplaza plans to roll the plastic-free aisle out across each of its 74 stores. Of course we still encourage zero/low waste but where thats not possible this is an awesome step forward. Here’s hoping other supermarkets follow suit in the not-too-distant future!
