Have you heard of the Numbat?

Have you heard of the Numbat? This beautiful, endangered creature is Western Australia’s unique mammal emblem and we really want to protect them. Numbats can consume up to 20,000 termites per day – it’s a pretty incredible feat!

This little marsupial is one of our favorite animals and one of us has been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one in the wild – they are very elusive!

Numbats are under threat from habitat loss and introduced predators like foxes and feral cats – it is estimated that there are fewer than 1,000 individuals now left. We’d like to give a shout out to Project Numbat @project.numbat for promoting community awareness of the numbat and its role in numbat conservation. They’re working really hard to create a world these awesome termite eating marsupials can survive – and hopefully thrive – in.
