Plastic pollution is one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time – threatening our environment, wildlife and our own health (bigger studies on this are now starting). Around the world, 1 million plastic drinking bottles are purchased every minute and we use up to 5 trillion disposable plastic bags annually. In total, about 50% of the plastic we use is single use. Nearly one third of the plastic packaging we use ends up clogging our city streets, polluting our environment and threatening our wildlife.
Plastic can be exceptionally useful for non-convience areas but it needs end of life harm and production damage considered in the design. Across a broad range of topics we think we’re at an intersection in the world – and we have either nowhere to go (destruction) or everywhere (our hopes of what the world could be). We can all be leaders, innovators and activists and together we can nurture our planet and help to #unstuffit.
