What is forest gardening?

Instead of neat little rows of monoculture, forest gardens mix fruit and nut trees, shrubs, herbs, vines and vegetables together in a wild setting. This type of agroforestry mimics natural ecosystems and uses the space available in a sustainable way.

It’s lower maintenance, and food forests can be created in urban areas (plus feeding communities like this is super cool).

@dewtownmayor has a short little video on forest gardens that’s worth watching (also on National Geographic).
